Tulum, Mexico is a beautiful place to visit. The young and the old can enjoy the scenery and the beautiful beaches with crystal clear water. Seniors are able to come to this destination and find many things to do in Tulum, Mexico. Many think that there is just hiking, snorkeling, and partying to do at these types of destinations, but this could not be further from the truth.

One of the more exciting easier hikes to take, while in Tulum, Mexico, is through the Mayan Ruins. The hike is relatively easy and the sites are just breathtaking. There are tours and tour guides that will take you through the different parts of the Ruins, but you can wander yourself if you feel more comfortable. One reason you might want to wait for a tour guide would be to listen to the history of the Mayan Ruins. There are not any brochures, but there are a few plaques that will tell you a little about each section of the walls. Once you are done looking at the Mayan ruins you can then enjoy the sun and the beautiful beach and crystal clear water.

The beaches by the Mayan ruins are just breathtaking. The waters are so beautiful that it appears to be turquoise. The black cliffs are also in the scene that comes together with the water to make a very aesthetically pleasing picture that will allow you to relax and enjoy the vacation that you wanted. Beware the sun is warm and it is not advised to go during high noon when the sun is really hot.

There is more to do at the Mayan ruins than just looking at the ruins and laying around on the beautiful beach. Shopping is yet another option for things to do in Tulum, Mexico. There are a lot of cute little shops around the Mayan Ruins that sell small crafts, souvenirs, and other mementoes that you might want to take home to remember your vacation to Mexico. These vendors normally have reasonable prices, but many are willing to bring the price down if you try and bargain with them. One of the best parts about shopping in Mexico is trying to negotiate a price.

Another great part of visiting the Mayan ruins is the food and drink. After a long day of walking, lying on the beach, and shopping it might be nice to have a great dinner and enjoy some of the culturally unique foods of Mexico.
